Day 15 – Something you don’t leave the house without.
Well, clothes. LMAO. I really am the most forgetful broad on the PLONET. I have lost my wallet, purse, and cellphone in various places in my house and left them in different areas everywhere I got. I have lost my wallet twice and that shit sucked. I can’t say I never leave the house without those things because I do. I do it quite often. So I’ll say this: I never leave the house with a good book and clothes. If not a book a magazine. There’s always time to read!
Side Note Movie Review:
I just went to the movies last night and saw The Town. I give it a four ALMOST five out of stars. It was really good, just the right amount of violence, and drama. The not complete work of five stars is because I wished it showed more Blake Lively. Her acting was spot on and never seeing her do anything like this character was like a sock in the stomach. I was like Serena from Gossip Girl?? I wanted to sense more of her in the movie like who she was I guess. But it was still a great, great, great movie. See it!
First off thank you so much Brandi! This header right hurr on my page was made by that fabulous young lady. Check her site out. It’s amazing as is she.
Second off, let me say thanks to every one of my friends in regards to their amazing support in response to my last entry I was a certified mess that night but I am feeling a lot better. I am going to struggle and this is a loooong process. I am doing this and I am going to have eff ups. My lovely friend Leslie also did something fabulous for me and I want to share it here even though its kinda personally for me lol.
She’s a dollface, ain’t she? Enough of all that though. I want to talk about Death at a Funeral.
Here is the trailer:
This movie is effing hilarious. Have ya’ll seen it? Well, I went to see Shutter Island last night and they showed this trailer
UM HELLO ITS THE SAME FUCKING MOVIE!!!!
Now, if you have seen the original movie this is the same exact movie updated with an american cast but keeping the same actor for same role; Peter Dinklage. Don’t get me wrong, this movie looks hilarious as well but how unoriginal can you be to redo a movie that only came out three years ago? Shame on Hollywood. Seriously. Now this movie is going to get more credit than the original. Lame.
Let me talk about Shutter Island briefly. I really liked the movie. It is not better than other Scrosese works, like say, The Departed , but it is a visually stunning film. The first 45 minutes are so… leaves you a little itchy and bored, honestly, but it picks it up. It’s a psychological thriller not really this horror fest some people were led to believe by the previews. I give it a 3 out of 5 stars due to the first hour lacking. I really think that it is a great movie and I can’t wait to watch it again because then, during the second viewing, you can pick up all of the little things. That’s the great thing about this movie. You can watch it over again and pick out the things you miss. I hate movies you can only watch once. That’s lame. I love a movie I’ll buy and watch over and over again. This is a much watch, personally. The Rotten Tomatoes gave it a 60% but eff them. It’s a great movie.
❤ you all and thanks soo much again for the header Brandi. I finally feel like this blog is mine!
I’ve been pretty content heavy with my posts (haha a pun sorta!) so I decided to do a lighter, frothier post listing some of my favorite films and why. My friend Brandi kinda did the same thing with her so I’m totally biting but my favorites are different from hers so it’s not totally the same. Since I work at a movie store my tastes vary immensely so here goes;
FIRST AND FOREMOST
I am so in love with Johnny Depp it’s not even funny. This was the first movie I remember him being in since it was made in 1989/1990 so I was three when it came out. I have watched this movie a billion and one times. When it came out on DVD I watched it every night to give me something to sleep to. Yes, I had a problem. It’s one of those timeless kinds of fairy tales plopped in modern suburbia. Edward Scissorhands is a gentle, loving, creature that is just misunderstood because of his hands. We can all relate, ya know?Johnny Depp embodies this character so you KNOW Edward. You come to love Edward.
I think everyone has seen this movie so I won’t get into the plot so much but the part where he’s getting cream on his face always mellows me out. I don’t know why it it does but that may be where I got my love of face moisturizer and creams.
Favorite Quote: Darn this stuff!
This movie is fascinating to me. I have also seen it a million times. I love the way it’s kind of a psychological thriller and a love story. I love the cinematography, the soundtrack, and the actors. This movie made me fall in love with Rose Byrne. Her character is made out to be kind of wacky but I GET her. I get it. I don’t want to spoil it if you have seen it but I think it’s definitely worth the watch. Favorite quote : “Love makes you do crazy things, insane things. Things in a million years you’d never see yourself do. But there you are doing them… can’t help it. ”
Breakfast at Tiffany’s
Ah, you can call it cliche’ if you want to I don’t care. I fucking love this movie and I love Audrey Hepburn. I saw this movie when I was 12 years old and I was up later than my usual bed time. I turned on TCM and there it was. I LOVED the story even though I really didn’t understand it at the time. Paid escort, anyone? The clothes, the sets, the hair, and Tiffany itself. It was too much for a young girl to handle. I wanted glamour and I wanted to be Audrey. She is a socialite yet a spazz. Her apartment’s a mess. She has things everywhere and I felt that connection. Paul (Fred) is basically her male counterpart (although he gets paid for MORE than escorting hehe) he understands her and undoubtedly falls in love with her. This movie also has the best end of the movie kissing scenes ever I may add.
Favorite quote: “The blues are because you’re getting fat and maybe it’s been raining too long, you’re just sad that’s all. The mean reds are horrible. Suddenly you’re afraid and you don’t know what you’re afraid of.”
He loves me, He loves me not
Another Favorite Audrey. Audrey Tatou makes amazing movies. A Very Long Engagement, Amelie, Priceless, among others. To warn you it’s in French with English subtitles. I really can’t even explain the movie with out giving much away but it tells both sides of the story. It’s so cool. I love it. A must-see in my book. I haven’t seen the movie enough times to have a favorite quote plus it’s in French so.. lol.
Superbad Goddamnit i love this movie. It is the funniest fucking film. Funnier than Hangover and Step Brothers? In my opinion? YES! If you have not seen this hilarious movie what the shit is wrong with you? If you say this movie isn’t that funny to you I say McLovin!
Favorite Quotes: “Take off that vest you look like Aladdin.”
“Muhammed is the most commonly used name on Earth. Read a fucking book for once.”
“I gotta catch a glimpse of these warlocks. Let’s make a move. ”
“I’m sorry that I blocked your cock ”
“Well Jules, the funny thing about my back is that it’s located on my cock”
Damned good movie. Damned good movie. The first time I saw this movie, I’m not gonna lie, I was stoned outta my mind. I was like 18 and this movie was a total mind fuck. I watched it again, sober, and then I was like ohhhhhh time travel has rules, cool! Of course it’s one of those movies you have to see again and again to get all the things you missed. The soundtrack is super awesome. The director’s cut is the one everyone should own because it’s so different from the original. The sequel S. Darko was really, really, really well made and is a must-see for Donnie Darko fans everywhere.
Favorite quote“What’s a fuckass?”
Singin’ in the Rain
Love this movie. It’s one of the best movies of all time for a reason. It has awesome songs and is funny without trying too hard. It makes me feel all cozy when I see it.
Favorite Quote Don says to cosmo “Hey, call me a cab.” Cosmo replies “Okay, you’re a cab!”
This movie is Fucked up with a capital F. It is not for the light hearted to say the least. I don’t even want to tell you what it’s about except remember it’s rated R for a reason. It should be rated Nc 17 because of some really strong stuff but you know how it is. I’ll leave you with the tag line to the movie just to give you a feel for it; Two boys. One can’t remember. The other can’t forget. See it for yourself and keep an open mind.
I have some other honorable mentions for some of my favorite flicks here because I am tired of googling pictures so here goes;
Some Like it hot, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Hangover, Step Brothers, Big, The Departed, Beauty and the Beast, The Italian Job (Mark Wahlberg version) Roman Holiday, Lost in Yonkers and a million more. I have a movie problem and I don’t care who knows it lol
